#Relief4LowerVolta: Citi FM/Citi TV embarks on another round of donations today

Several trucks loaded with relief items are currently on their way to the Volta Region as Citi FM and Citi TV embark on another round of donations to areas affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage.

The items are from donations made by the wonderful listeners and viewers of Citi FM and Citi TV as part of the #Relief4LowerVolta Campaign.

The dedicated efforts of the Citi TV/Citi FM team have made a significant impact in providing much-needed relief to those affected by the recent floods.

For the upcoming donation drive, selected communities within the Anlo, Keta, and Ketu South constituencies will be the beneficiaries.

Citi FM and Citi TV, courtesy of their listeners and viewers, have already extended helping hands to the victims of the Akosombo dam disaster twice in October 2023, putting smiles on the faces of thousands of residents of the affected communities.

The gesture included the donation of assorted relief items, such as mattresses, cooking utensils, blankets, bags of rice, beans, maize, sachet water, and mosquito nets, among others, as part of the #Relief4LowerVolta campaign.

Inhabitants of Mafi Aklamador and New Bakpa, both in the Central Tongu district; Agave Asidowhui community, Agbeve, and Sokpoe in the South Tongu district, all in the Volta Region; and some island communities in the Ada East district – Kewuse and Mutkunya – all benefited from the gesture.

The #Relief4LowerVolta campaign by Citi FM/Citi TV is an initiative aimed at bringing relief to people affected by the Akosombo dam spillage.

It created a platform for Corporate Ghana, organized bodies, and individuals touched by the relentless campaign to support in cash and in-kind.

Apart from the relief items, the residents also benefited from free health screening and medications.

So far, Citi FM and Citi TV are putting up resettlement centres for some of the affected communities beginning with Torkpo.
